RUSSIA ONE STEP AHEAD

Russia announced Tuesday that it would keep U.S. astronauts from the International Space Station -- an apparent response to the sanctions levied by the U.S. over Russia's role in the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

Last week, the U.S. announced that it would deny export licenses for several high-technology items sought by Russia as punishment for its annexation of Crimea.

Contractor giving soars 28% in bid to block Defense cuts

The government’s top 10 suppliers, most of which rely heavily on defense spending, made $13.7 million in PAC contributions during the first 15 months of the current two-year election cycle, which began Jan. 1, 2013. That compares with $10.6 million from Jan. 1, 2011, though March 31, 2012.

A note : an average Army solider makes $19,184 starting pay. Average pay for military contractor $150,000-$300,000.

Last month BFT brought a story to your attention where the Army was considering new "grooming standards" including restrictions on tattoos. 
Today : 
JALALABAD, Afghanistan — In the works for more than a year, strict new rules governing things like tattoos and grooming for soldiers have been approved by the Secretary of the Army and are only awaiting a final signature, Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond Chandler said Saturday.

Speaking to troops at bases in eastern Afghanistan, Chandler said Secretary John McHugh has approved but not yet officially put his name to the changes to Army Regulation 670-1.
